Shimabara, which once flourished as a red-light district, has over time hidden its glamorous appearance from the public eye, and today the memory of the town is carried on by the large gates and cobblestone streets. The power of the land to attract new migrants seems to dwell quietly now, along with memories. This video records the people and town encountered while walking through the peaceful Shimabara of today, and listens to the memories of this place.
