Making original postcards - Traditional Japanese paper, Ise Katagami, pigment -
Ise Katagami is from Mie prefecture, with a history of more than 1,000 years.
It's used for dyeing kimono designs and patterns, etc.
Make Japanese postcards with your favorite designs using these traditional patterns.

  • ○Hand-carved Ise Katagami from Mie prefecture (1 sheet)

    Ise Katagami is treated with traditional auspicious patterns, and one of the following three types can be chosen. Ise Katagami can be washed and used many times

    ・Shippo pattern:
    Contains many circles which feels like they can be connected.
    ・Hanabishi:
    Diamond-shaped flowers. The diamond shape is said to have come from the shape of the aquatic plant hishi, and includes the meaning of soaking up sunlight and growing quickly.
    ・Chidori:
    Expresses the fluttering takeoff of birds flocking to the waterside.

  • ○Ikazaki Japanese paper postcards (2) from Ehime

    each piece of Ikazaki Japanese paper is handmade one by one by a craftsman.
  • ○Pigment (6 colors)

    Natural mineral pigments etc. also used by Japanese painters, solidified on pallets. Easy to use just by brishing the surface with a brush dipped in water.
  • ○Brush (1)

    A brush actually used by dye craftsmen. Deer and horsehair are used with soft elasticity, to gently dye without damaging the pattern or fabric.
